Our team is dedicated to supporting underserved children in overcoming challenges.
Founded in 1986 by longtime Landings residents and club members, the late Dr. George Negron and his late wife, Yolanda Negron, the Martin de Porres Society is a 501 (c)(3) organization guided by the teachings of Christ and inspired by Martin de Porres, a dedicated patron saint. Today their legacy to help underserved children in the Savannah area is continued by their daughter, Maria Gabriella Verwiel and her family, Landings residents since 1984. The Martin de Porres Society is committed to helping meet the educational, social and emotional needs of children and families from underserved communities in Savannah, Georgia, through various programs such as Back to School Initiatives, Camp Lighthouse, Christmas Blessings, and Mentoring/Tutoring. Donate today to secure a brighter future for every child.
